Hi Alejandro,
Good questions, our participation will be led by the head of our North
American Bureau - Sally Wentworth. Sally will of course work with
Members and Chapters, as well as our Global Policy efforts and rely as
we all do on long-established principles and/or positions. Having the
NA Bureau lead our participation should ensure ISOC HQ is seen as
different to ISOC's North American Bureau - just as the other Bureaus
are. And, admittedly, it will take some time for our new model to
settle in a bit, but we are well on our way.
With respect to coordination across differing viewpoints and/or online
mediums/tools, shouldn't we use the processes developed in the Sphere
Consult to develop ISOC's talking points (and again alot of this
already exists). I'm sure there are things we can learn from our
Hadopi WG effort as well. Then, we can either ensure the appropriate
lists are monitored and responses sent in following ISOC's agreed
position -- and if any area/point requires more debate, we kick off
the Sphere Consult process again. All this applies to responses
that go in under an ISOC related submission. We are of course, all
free to comment as individuals, we simply need to make sure we are
clear which hat we are wearing.
Hope I understood your point correctly and that this helps.
Best,
Lynn
