hi Khaled, All,
In 2011 we will be launching a pilot service that covers the costs of
domain name registration and website hosting. This is in response to
the 2011 Chapter Needs survey (results available in Spanish, French
and English at http://www.isoc.org/isoc/chapters/guidelines/) that
that identified funding as the priority area for all Chapters.
The survey results informed and influenced the planning for Chapter
Development for 2011. The details are covered in the attached
presentation, made at the Board of Trustees meeting in Beijing, and
recently at the Chapters & Members meeting at ICANN in Cartagena.
Slide 8 shows the new activities for 2011.
On use of webex by Chapters to host meetings, yes, this is possible.
If you need to schedule a meeting, simply email <chapter-support at isoc.org
> and we will set it up for you. At the same time, Marratech is also
still available for use. Again, please contact us to 'book' a meeting
slot. We will look to making this information more accessible as we
work to revise the Chapter Handbook (which will become the "Chapter
Guide") into html format.
On websites, inside the Chapter portal, there is the possibility to
provide some basic information about your Chapter, through a "Chapter
preview" page - this is available for all potential members to see.
Also, looking ahead, the Engagement platform, under development by the
AMS team <amshelp at isoc.org> will also provide a platform for enhanced
collaboration and community building.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask on this list
or at <chapter-support at isoc.org> or to your Regional Bureau Manager.
We're here to help.
Many thanks,
Anne
