Milton Mueller: Networks and States: The Global Politics of Internet
Governance – NYU 12/14
ISOC-NY is delighted to present Milton Mueller’s first full exposition of
his new book 'Networks and States: The Global Politics of Internet
Governance' at NYU on Tuesday December 14 2010. Prof. Mueller is a
co-founder of ICANN’s NonCommercial User’s Constituency and a renowned
cyberlibertarian. His 2002 book 'Ruling the Root' has long been the
definitive work on governance. We are excited to hear details of what, in
his mind, has changed in the last 8 years. This event is open to the
public and will be webcast live.

Video: Susan Crawford – The State of Telecommunications Policy in the US
Today
Evan Korth’s Computers & Society class presented an ISOC-NY sponsored talk
by Susan Crawford, who previously served as President Obama’s Special
Assistant for Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy and was a former
Board Member of ICANN. Currently, she is a professor at Cardozo Law School
and a Visiting Research Collaborator at Princeton’s Center for Information
Technology Policy. Most recently Susan has been in the forefront of
opposition to the Comcast-NBC merger.

Video: NY Tech Council Innovations in Media Series – Advertising Technology
The New York Technology Council presented the second panel in its
Innovations in Media Series – Advertising Technology: How has technology
reshaped the advertising business model? – at CUNY Graduate Center NYC on
Dec 2 2010. Coming directly on the heels of the FTC’s announcement of a
proposed Do-Not-Track framework, a stimulating discussion on the trade-offs
between privacy and commerce.
