Hello Gene

Many thanks for the inputs. Just to be clear, there will surely be a  
role for machine translation. A question to determine though is just  
how extensive that role will be and how we can best integrate it with  
other approaches. The points you make in your mail are important;  
however, there are other important factors that we also need to  
balance against them. These are mentioned to some degree in the  
background paper, but I'm looking forward to discussing them on the  
call on the 8th.
