[Chapter-delegates] Chapter Handbook: Invitation to review review drafts and participate in meeting

Dear Chapter Delegates,

As most of you know from the messages circulated on this list over the  
past year, I am working with ISOC to develop a Chapter Handbook. The  
purpose of the handbook is to provide instructions, advice, tips, and  
other useful information for new and developing Chapters. The  
intention is to make this a "living document," one that will be  
updated regularly.

The most recent draft of the handbook is now on the wiki (login  
required) and available for review. We welcome your feedback,  
corrections, comments, and suggestions. We also are actively seeking  
additional examples and best practices to incorporate into the  
documents, particularly on topics such as fundraising, marketing,  
membership recruitment, leadership succession, and the use of social  
media.

We have scheduled a meeting with the handbook editorial committee to  
go over the materials and we would like to invite any Chapter  
Delegates who are interested in joining us to do so. The meeting is  
scheduled for Wednesday, the 21st of October at UTC 20.00 in the large  
auditorium on Marratech. You can find a time zone conversion at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html 
. Please let us know if you plan to attend so we can put you on the  
list.

At the moment, the materials are available in Word only, but plans are  
being made to convert them to html when they are completed. They will  
also be translated into French and Spanish.

I'd like to thank all of you who took the time to talk to me and to  
contribute thoughts, ideas, examples, and best practices. We hope to  
continue making improvements as we move toward completion.
