Hi Dawit

How have you been?

I saw your apology to the AfriICANN listing on the short notice by ISOC
Africa regarding the meeting announcement below.

Given that we had asked Sabrina on a way to get involved in the past weeks,
the sudden announcement came as a surprise to me as well.

If you are not aware, our organization DotConnectAfrica, has been very
actively represented by myself and many of its supporters at ICANN, in the
past years and now involved in supporting SFBay ISOC. As a result, we are
very much interested in Africa and African internet issues.

Allow me then, to take this opportunity to kindly ask to collaborate on
future work of ISOC Africa with us. Being new entrant in Africa and all
the issues of IG and policy, I am sure ISOC Africa would want to expand
it's constituent base to all groups that have something to contribute
towards such issues. We are doing a lot of interesting things under
DotConnectAfrica that we want to share with you and ISOC Africa.

Therefore, please let us know earliest on the next major activity of ISOC
Africa, so we can contribute towards your agenda.

Myself and DotConnectAfrica looks forward to working with you directly in
the future. Wishing you best on your deliberations in May.

We are sorry we cannot attend.

 Regards,
Sophia

Countries in tuning to the emerging internet governance issues and concerns
that affect the growth and stability of the Internet in the countries.

Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the INET Africa meeting to be held on May 18,
2009 at Intercontinental City Stars Hotel in Cairo, Egypt together with
AfNOG and AfriNIC meetings that will be held during the same week. Please

and AfriNIC sites.

This year’s INET’s title is “IGF Sharm El Sheikh: An Opportunity to Foster
Regional Internet Governance”. It is organized by the Internet Society

Egypt. The meeting aims at holding discussions to prepare the African
Internet community for the Internet Governance Forum that will take place in
Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, next November. It will discuss the issues of focus
of this year’s IGF with an African perspective.

For your convenience you are invited to review the published agenda at
