Hello

The China Green Dam Youth-Escort software and the Chinese Government's
directives to the PC manufacturers are widely reported online, please see

http://rconversation.blogs.com/rconversation/2009/07/green-dam-is-breachednow-what.html

But several Governments, for example, the Australian Government, are making
available similar software. While other Governments haven't made it a
directive, and their programs are more in the nature of addressing a
problem, such as Child Safety, there COULD be features of Green Dam in the
content distribution software developed / distributed by other Governments
and ICT agencies around the world that have gone relatively unnoticed.

China required PC manufacturers to pre-install Green Dam Youth Escort. Some
other Government might be doing it at the ISP level, or at the DNS cache
level or by distributing / funding the distribution of such content
filtering software.

Could Chapter-delegates write in on this thread about what is happening on
the Content Filtering front in their countries with what they feel about
similarities ( though other Governments wouldn't issue directives like how
China did) of the underlying software of the China Green Dam Youth Escort,
to gain a global perspective on content filtering?
