Hi Bill,

I was hoping to collaborate with ISOC Chennai (if possible) as a
follow-up on what was mentioned at the summing-up session in Hyderabad.
I quote from the transcript of the session below:

"My name is Sivu Subramaniam Motosami (phonetic). I am from ISOC India,
Chennai, but I want to share my observations as an individual. This is
my first IGF, and I have a lot of respect for the participants here.
But my individual impression is that we have a lot of experts here, but
the expertise in some cases does not stem from a complete understanding
of the fundamental issues. We are on the third IGF, and because we are
on the third IGF, is it right to assume that we are halfway through the
process of evolving Internet governance or is it probably right to think
of the way forward -- the way forward is to go back to the fundamentals
and probably ask what is the Internet and what is the impact of the
decisions made here in its full depth. In other words, is the way
forward -- is the best way forward to go back to the fundamentals and
understand the Internet in its full depth? To make all stakeholders,
all participants understand the Internet in its full depth? And then
decide what needs to be done. Thank you."

Nevertheless, we've just established an Education Working Group in ISOC
PH focusing on "Internet Fundamentals" (another sub-group deals with
"Youth and the Internet").

Not much activity on the ground yet as we are still rejuvenating, but
plenty of difficult discussion on-going (among a rather small group of
active members).

I will look at the IGF Survey.

Also, we have ISOC PH members who have been to the IGFs, they should
take the survey as well.

I'll post the ISOC PH article on our activities, etc. shortly -
which explains our situation and our planned activities for IGF (among
others).

Best regards,
Fatima
