hi Joly, Fred, all,
The setup for the webpage is not ideal. It is a manual process to update
it and relies for the mostpart on us receiving information regarding
changes. There is a plan to integrate this much more tightly to the new
Association Membership System (AMS) so that changes are captured in one
place only.
Please do take the opportunity to quickly review the information for
your chapter and let us know if it is out of date. In the meantime we
continue to work to have it updated and this is an ongoing process.

Regarding dormant chapters, you will see that there is a new page for
"Rejuvenating Chapters" at:
http://www.isoc.org/isoc/chapters/list.php?region=&status=J&view=
or : http://tinyurl.com/5qjf9e
There is a process underway to identify dormant chapters and then to
seek individuals in their membership who might be interested in helping
to rejuvenate the chapter. Dormant chapters are currently identified
when we have exhausted all efforts to get hold of the listed Chapter
leaders or if the Chapter leaders tell us they are not interested
anymore. Dormant or "sleeping" chapters exist in a variety of forms,
for good reasons, and we are trying, as part of our one-on-one
engagement to reach out to the chapters that need help. This is an
ongoing process and will again take time.
Within the context of the Sphere project there is a group which is
looking at identifying criteria and measurement of chapters. The brief
of the project is to:
* Identify 2 or 3 criterion to differentiate between Chapters.
* Clarify the criteria so each Chapter can assess where it fits
* Invite Chapters to make their own assessment of where they fit
* Using the data, map the overall ‘topography’ of the Chapters.
Please see:
http://wiki.chapters.isoc.org/tiki-index.php?page=Chapter+Analysis&bl
or: http://tinyurl.com/5g8ekp
Having criteria and a topography of the chapters will be of enormous
help in our work.
Please consider joining the Sphere project if you have an interest in
this area.
Best wishes
Anne
