Eduardo,
I can only speak for the recent period. Franck and Patrick have pushed for
some serious work for the chapters, which I've joined as you may have
seen. The situation right now is that ISOC has hired several new people
and is reorganizing its activities so we'll only be able to know what
results from them in a few months.
What they two and I have been very starkly asking for is actions that even
if in a smaller scale, provide chapters with what we need to work. This is
a co-responsibility situation, in which we mmust also step up the efforts,
provision of materials for publication, etc. from the chapters' side.
Franck has said a lot more on this matter in a parallel email.
And, all chapters' representatives on the Board have been working pretty
hard and constantly in the IGF, in IETF-related tasks, and the many other
tasks that occupy the Board in keeping ISOC whole.
We are frustrated that we do not have more in-hand to delivver to our own
chapter members and to other chapters. We have to et better organized and
make sure there is as much bottom-up push as there is pull. That's our
challenge now.
Yours,
Alx
