Dear Colleagues

In 2007 many Chapters participated in a global, decentralised event
called "OneWebDay". OneWebDay 2008 describe the purpose of the day as:

"... to encourage people to think of themselves as responsible for the
Internet, and to take good and visible actions on Sept. 22 that
celebrate the positive impact of the Internet on the world and shed
light on the problems of access and information flow."

A mailing list <onewebday at elists.isoc.org> was set up to facilitate
co-ordination and discussion among Chapters. If your Chapter is
interested in participating in OneWebDay 2008 and would like to be added
to the mailing list, please send email to <chapters at isoc.org>.

In addition we have set up an initial co-ordination Marratech e-meeting
and are very fortunate to have Susan Crawford, founder of OneWebDay as a
guest on the call:

  Tuesday 20 May @ UTC 10.30 and UTC 20.00.

If you are interested to participate, please sign up on the chapter wiki
at:

http://wiki.chapters.isoc.org/tiki-index.php?page=E-meeting+schedule+via+Marratech+and+Dial+in&bl

or http://tinyurl.com/5zsmlz

The meeting will be held in the public 'auditorium' room. Please visit
http://www.isoc.org/isoc/chapters/meetings/ for more information on how
to connect with Marratech. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you
wish to test Marratech beforehand.

This could be a great opportunity to showcase the ISOC Chapters around
the globe! For more information please see http://www.onewebday.org.

Best wishes,
Anne
