OK.

Will check out YouTube in 24 h.

In regard to uploading the video to archive.org, I could do it myself, but
previously I guess I need to have an authorization and instructions
regarding the extend of the rights under which it should be classified
(public domain? A version of Creative Commons? Copyright?).

Best regards,

Peter,

Thanks for the offer. The tape is now on the way, via FedEx, to a volunteer
in North Carolina. With luck, it could be on YouTube by tomorrow evening.
Stay tuned.

This will not be seen by the chapter delegates list; I don't have posting
privileges there.

George

Hello everyone...

Just to make sure this will happen, and not knowing what has been discussed
in regard of the tape (maybe I'm just raining over wet), would like to point
out:

1) Make one or several copies of the tape (analog copies since it seems
there are no digital facilities where the tape is now).
2) Ship copies of the tape, not the original.
3) No matter what format is the tape in (1/2 inch, 3/4, 1 inch, beta, vhs,
or any other more exotic one), it should not be too complicated to digitaze
it. >From mos formats (minus reel to reel 1/2 and 1 inch) I can do it in my
home (still keep in working status my UMATIC, VHS and Beta players). If more
exotic, several local facilities would be happy to help in. Of course, if
the tape has problems (funghi, ruptures, etc.), then a more extensive job is
necessary, probably not for free...
4) When the digital copy is ready, please submit (upload) it to archive.org,
even if you still wish to use YouTube.

Finaly, keep us posted, we all want to promote this interview as soon as it
becomes available on line.

Many thanks and best regards,
Peter Cernik

Gerard,
George already responded that he has the copy, and he started talking to
Joly of ISOC-New York about the digitalization. I think that it will be
organized shortly; what they may need from you is to cover the expenses for
the FedEx, as it is not wise to mail this by usual mail.

Best,
Veni

(p.s. let's take away this off the list, as these are technical details, and
George is not subscribed there, so he can't post to it)

Hi folks

It's great to see so much interest in getting this tape digitised.
Unfortunately ISOC does not currently have a copy of the tape, so we
are certainly keen to get a copy that we can link to from our main
site as soon as possible.

There seem to be quite a few offers of help coming in. I don't want to
get in the way of any action that is happening already, but please let
me know if there is any assistance we can give.

Many thanks.

- Gerard
