Agreed. Marratech also has a chat facility can also be used. Jabber chat 
rooms were set up for this meeting, but I decided not to publish the 
details as the Internet connectivity has been very unreliable and 
unpredictable.

We do actually have good tools these days for remote participation. With 
Marratech, the phone bridge can be connected to the software, so anyone 
who cannot use Marratech can also dial in using the telephone 
conferencing service or we can use the phone line alone, combined with 
jabber.  Unfortunately it does all rely on a stable Internet connection 
and/or a phone line. Both were challenging on this occasion (as was 
procuring a room).

As for the future, we will try to provide opportunities for remote 
participation where possible.
