15th Annual Network and Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS) Brings
Together Internet Security Experts From Around the Globe

RESTON, VA, USA and GENEVA, SWITZERLAND - 11 February 2008 - The Network and
Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS) is now underway in San Diego,
California.

The NDSS, supported by the Internet Society, now in its 15th year, is one of
the longest-running Internet security conferences on the calendar, drawing
leading experts, researchers, and technologists from around the globe to
share experience and analysis of security issues in networks and distributed
systems.

The significance of NDSS is reflected by the caliber of the symposium
sponsors, led by the US National Security Agency and including Afilias, the
San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), Google, Microsoft Research, the
Dartmouth College Institute for Security Technology Studies (ISTS), and IEEE
Security & Privacy magazine.

"NDSS'08 brings together innovative and forward-thinking experts to present
papers on a wide range of real-world security scenarios for the Internet,"
explains Lynn St. Amour, President and CEO of the Internet Society.

NDSS'08 features a keynote address by Gary McGraw, CTO of Cigital, Inc, a
discussion on virtualization and security by a panel of industry experts,
and more than 20 peer-reviewed papers by security researchers from leading
universities and companies around the globe.

"These are some of the brightest minds in their fields, focusing on the
practical aspects of network and distributed system security," says Doug
Szajda, General Symposium Chair and Associate Professor of Computer Science
at the University of Richmond.

"The topics covered emphasize real-world system design and implementation,
encouraging and enabling the Internet community to apply, deploy, and
advance the state of available security technology."

Participants from 13 countries have gathered for a three-day program of
papers and discussions on topics ranging from large scale systems,
collaborative systems, privacy, software hardening, reverse engineering,
intrusion prevention, and malware.

NDSS'08 is being held at The Dana on Mission Bay, San Diego, 10-13 February
2008. Full program and registration details are available at:
