I am frankly more concerned about ISO and standardization itself than this
perticular standard.
If the process kan be so clearly subverted, it is in need of reform. We
should help ISO benefit from the massive PR it is given by the DIS 29500
process, And the help should be in the direction of standardizing the
standardization process and to strengthen its integrity.
The DIS 29500 process should be the example of what every standards
process should be able to tackle better than what we have seen in ISO.
I have amended my open letter to ISO somewhat from input given here
(thanks for the input). I will see if a petition can be put up based on
the letter. It will be published later today on my blog:

As for the Norwegian part of the process, the politicians are now very
well aware of its weaknesses. I expect to see reform in our own standards
organization.
All this said; I indeed agree that the standard itself should not receive
a stamp of approval.
