[Chapter-delegates] Application to form a chapter in United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Dear colleagues,

The following application for a new Chapter to be formed in United  
Arab Emirates (UAE) has been received. It is being sent to this list  
for peer comment and review.

Please note that following on from recent discussions on this list,   
the purpose of this review is as part of the overall process of 'due
diligence' in forming new chapters. The chapter is not yet formed. In  
all cases, if there are those on this list that personally know the
individuals proposing to form the chapter, feedback is especially  
welcome.

The period allowed for comments is 2 weeks and the deadline is 27  
February 2007.

According to our inquiries about the rules of Dubai Technology and  
Media Free Zone there is no any problem to create UAE ISOC Chapter to  
serve UAE community

G. Additional Information

The objectives of the chapter could be summarized by:

* Awareness of the importance of network technology and its uses.
* Submission of proposals and solutions to the emergency problems on  
the Internet.
* Encouraging young people to cope with the demands of the global  
technology arena.
* Cooperation with training institutes in the area of specialized  
training and public courses for the Internet users and people who  
are  interested in this area.
* Give an opportunity to Emirates citizens to exchange their  
technical experiences to improve performance, through variety of  
activities on the local and Arabic level.
* Giving the local programmers an opportunity to prepare programs  
with a high level, instead of translation into Arabic and the  
development of foreign programs.
