Alejandro, and all
indeed, we can use this for some time, but I thought if it wouldn't
be better if we create our own environment. It seem it's not going to
be better. Facebook allows many people to use different applications,
and people do that all the time.
Just as an example, I created also a cause called
"<http://apps.facebook.com/causes/view_cause/10886?recruiter_id=3364877&pwstdfy=a298419e9604d67910233f9ec3ef2996>ISOC",
which is a different thing than the group. I think it's worth
exploring all options, for several reasons:

1. We are all victims of the mailing lists; the social networking
sites give more opportunities for inclusion
2. For me what ISOC is doing is a cause; I've turned this cause into
my own cause in Bulgaria first, then in other countries. It would be
good to have other people's experience accessable in all formats,
including on the web.
3. As for privacy issues, a topic which is hotter in Europe than
anywhere else, I've accepted from day one on the Internet that
whatever I do there, will one day become public; therefore there's no
privacy concerns online. Facebook gives opportunity to not include
all data, but for me the example for someone who participates in all
networks is Joi Ito. Some of you know him, the others can google him.
Best is to publish all one has, and is fit to publish, I think.

best,
Veni
