Day 4

This day I was at the Pacific Islands Forum ICT meeting. So I was not
able to follow the ICANN meeting, what I would report is that PICISOC
Chairman, Rajnesh Singh did a presentation on the activities of PICISOC
and urged the Pacific Islands to do an ICT day for community awareness.
PICISOC presented also an information paper to the Forum ICT Ministerial
meeting (www.picisoc.org). At the same time we requested the assistance
of ISOC France to present the differences of resources management
between the Internet world and the telecommunication world.

The goal of this meeting is to review the Digital Strategy part of the
Pacific Plan (www.pacificplan.org <http://www.pacificplan.org/>) that
was adopted last year by Pacific Leaders. Not many things exciting
despite that we are moving forward.

I then attended the reception at the Museum of Wellington. It was an
awesome place, I think one of the two best places so far I have been
during an ICANN or INET reception. The other one was the Nobel Reception
hall in Stockholm. Good work from the ICANN organisers.

This was also a great opportunity for the Pacific Islands delegates
registered at the ICANN meeting to meet and form partnerships. It was
also a good opportunity for our Chairman to meet other ISOC chapters
too. He runs a blog by the way: http://singh-a-blog.blogspot.com/
