I work in the field and I can tell you that this is 100% true... mobile
operators still think that they "own" the customer and they get to
decide which services and contents the customer gets to access, and at
the same time keep prices much higher than those you get on the
Internet.

In the long term, they will have to get down to the Internet world, but
not if the Internet is allowed to be controlled by big media/telco
corporations only, which would much like to bring the mobile model to
the Internet, rather than the opposite.
