[Chapter-delegates] Internet Society 2006

This relates to the matter raised by Gene Gaines recently wherein he noted
use by Wessex Institute of Technology in England of the Term 'Internet
Society' in a conference they are planning for next summer.

 

Thank you to those who wrote to us on this matter with suggestions.

 

I wanted to let you know that we have contacted Wessex Institute of
Technology in the spirit of working this out in a collaborative manner to
our mutual benefit. In doing so we underscored the importance of the
trademark and the hard work that has gone into its creation and enhancement
over the years by our members and chapters. 

 

I expect we will discuss this over the coming weeks and resolve things. The
process is underway and our approach is one of seeking mutual benefit while
protecting our legitimate interests. Thank you again to those who wrote
about this.
