Dear chapter delegates,

This is to draw your attention on a discussion that has started on the
memberpubpol at elists.isoc.org list.
This discussion was started by Avri Doria, a member of the WGIG and a
long time ISOC member.

Some of her concerns:

> I know that by the time I get to read ISOC position
> statements, they are a fait accompli that speaks
> for the community but without apparent community support.

> Many WGIG members are also ISOC members, and each time
> we are asked about the level of membership contribution
> all we can do is shrug and agree that these statements
> come from the leadership with little, if any, membership
> involvement.

So, you are all invited to send your thoughts about the aforementioned document on the memberpubpol at elists.isoc.org list.
We need to have ISOC position statements based on wide consensus, so your contributions are most welcome.

To join the public policy list, either go to http://elists.isoc.org/mailman/listinfo/memberpubpol or send an e-mail to memberpubpol-subscribe at elists.isoc.org.

Please join the list, as Avri is not in a position to become a member of the chapter-delegates list.

Best regards,

Patrick
