[Chapter-delegates] Board Meeting/Chapter Meeting in Paris

Dear Chapter Delegates:

Two important topics - one on the ISOC Board Meeting coming up and the
second on getting together in Paris with a potential chapter meeting noted
for comment/reply. 

FIRST, the ISOC Board of Trustees will have a formal meeting in Paris on
August 5th and 6th. The meeting starts at 1300 on Friday (going to 1800) and
then again at 0800 on Saturday (going to 1230). You are all welcome to
attend. The portion dealing with chapters and individual members is
presently scheduled to take place Saturday morning from 0800 until 0945. 

SECOND, as you know, the 63rd IETF Meeting will be held soon in Paris - from
Sunday July 31st until Friday August 5th.

A number of ISOC personnel will be there and we will have 'office hours' in
the conference center (Le Palais des Congress De Paris). I am unsure of the
actual room name at present but will put that information out closer to the
event once I find out. 

Jim Galvin, Nelson Sanchez and I will be there, as will, from time to time,
Lynn St.Amour and perhaps one or more of the ISOC Trustees. The 'office
hours' will be from 2:30 to 5:30 on Monday; and then 8:30 to 11:30 as well
as 2:30 to 5:30 on Tuesday through Thursday. If you plan to be at this IETF
meeting please do come by. We are available to discuss chapter relations,
ideas for enhanced partnership or other topics of interest. If those times
are not good please let us know and we can arrange an appointment at another
time. 

In addition, we have been, as you know, discussing with Sebastien Bachollet
and Odile Ambry of the ISOC France Chapter the possibility of a chapter
meeting - likely to be on Thursday evening August 4th. It might also include
a social component such as a group dinner. However, to date we have not
received much feedback on this aspect of the week and so I have a few brief
questions.

If you plan to be in Paris that week, even if only on the 4th, would you be
interested in participating in a chapter meeting? We would like at arrange
one with the ISOC France Chapter where that Chapter would make a
presentation, we might as well through one of us or a Trustee, and then have
an open forum.

Would you be interested in a social event such as a chapter dinner - there
would be a charge for this but we would try to make it modest?

Please let us know if you will be in attendance. The open office hours will
occur and we are just asking for input for the meeting at present.
