There will many views of the current WIPO meeting. I will
forward emails concerning the meetings from a cooperative blog
of several nonprofit groups, including: the Electronic Frontier
Foundation (EFF), the Computer Project on Technology (CPT),
Essential.Org, Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE), and
RealMeasures.

I warn you. Some of these groups are passionate about the
Internet as an open and free path for information and
communication, and some believe that such ideas as the
Creative Commons and open source are of value.

Hi all,

the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) is at a
turning point: For the first time, there is a comparatively
massive call for WIPO to take into consideration issues of
development and the interests of developing countries. Until now,
WIPO holds a very conservative position on copyright, trademarks,
patents and the like.
Together with Georg Greve, I'm participating in the meetings
where this discussion takes place. If you a interested in a
non-impartial account, you might want to check out my blog:

>From today until Wednesday, I'll try to write an entry at least once a
day.

Thanks for your interest
Karsten Gerloff
