Both this list and computer-history at postel.org both seem to have been ruined by spammers. Does the list need a moderator? Does the list have one now? - Brian Brian Dear PLATO History Project La Jolla, CA From touch at ISI.EDU Wed Dec 10 20:35:18 2003 From: touch at ISI.EDU (Joe Touch) Date: Wed, 10 Dec 2003 20:35:18 -0800 Subject: [ih] Cleaning up this list In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <3FD7F406.6010903@isi.edu> All, See http://www.postel.org/mail-faq.html If you are still seeing spam on your end, please review the configuration of your local spam filters. computer-history had 4 spams in the entire month of December 2003, internet-history had 6. If those are (a) getting past your filters and (b) 'excessive', you may indeed want to reconsider subscribing. To those who want to continue this discussion, please find a list focused on mail list management and continue this thread there, not on these lists (before they are 'ruined' by off-topic meta-discussions of list management ;-) Joe list adminstrator Brian Dear wrote: > Can something be done about the SPAM? > > Both this list and computer-history at postel.org both seem to have been > ruined by spammers. > > Does the list need a moderator?
