Dear Chapter Community,
I’m excited to share my candidacy for the ChAC Steering Committee and to
ask for your support during this election period. As someone deeply
committed to the power and potential of our chapters, I believe this is a
pivotal moment to strengthen the foundation we’ve built together and to
co-create what comes next.
Below, I’ve shared my motivation for running and my vision for where we can
be by the end of 2026. I hope it resonates with you, and I’d be honored to
represent your voice on the Steering Committee.
*1. Motivation for Serving on the ChAC Steering Committee:*
I am motivated to serve on the ChAC Steering Committee because I believe in
the power of chapters to build strong, inclusive, and action-oriented
communities. Chapters are often the heart of member engagement—where
relationships are built, leadership is developed, and local impact is made.
I want to help ensure that chapter leaders feel supported, heard, and
empowered to lead effectively.
Serving on the Steering Committee would allow me to contribute my
experience and insights to strengthen the broader chapter network, advocate
for the needs of chapter leaders, and help co-create solutions that reflect
the diverse voices within our community.
*2. Vision for ChAC and the Chapter Community by the End of 2026:*By the
end of 2026, I would like to see the ChAC and the chapter community
operating as a more connected, collaborative, and innovative ecosystem.
This includes:
-
Clearer communication channels between chapters and national leadership,
enabling faster feedback loops and shared learning.
-
Expanded leadership development opportunities for chapter leaders,
especially emerging and underrepresented leaders.
-
More inclusive and equitable chapter structures that reflect the diverse
identities and priorities of our members.
-
A strong culture of knowledge-sharing, where chapters routinely exchange
best practices, challenges, and new ideas.
-
Tangible progress on strategic goals—whether in advocacy, community
building, or membership growth—driven by strong local engagement.
Ultimately, I envision ChAC serving as both a strategic thought partner and
a reliable resource hub for chapter leaders, helping to unify and uplift
the entire chapter community.
Kind regards
Thokozile Miya
