Dear all,

The co-facilitators of the WSIS+20 review have presented their Zero Draft<https://publicadministration.desa.un.org/wsis20> (the PDF is located here<https://publicadministration.desa.un.org/sites/default/files/2021-04/2025/WSIS%2B20_ZERO_DRAFT.pdf>). This document is crucial because it contains the first set of proposed language that government delegations will use in their negotiations. Their objective is to agree on a final document to be adopted in December during the WSIS+20 High-Level Meeting.

This document contains proposals on a wide range of aspects related to the Internet Society’s vision that the Internet is for everyone. We’ll prepare a comprehensive written contribution and a matrix highlighting the positive and concerning language. In the matrix, we’ll include a rationale for our analysis and proposed language to address our concerns.

And by “we,” I mean all of the Internet Society. That’s why I’m happy to invite you and your chapter members to our open-door sessions to discuss the WSIS+20 Zero Draft. During the session, we’ll review the document and discuss our priorities for the next stages of the process.

Be ready to join these interactive sessions, where we’ll shape together the ideas and language we’ll use to defend the Internet and help make our vision a reality. Please circulate this invitation among your chapters and invite your colleagues to register for any of the two sessions. We scheduled them to cover different time zones; please choose the session that better accommodates your schedule.

When: Thursday, 4 September 2025.
At what time: 10:00 AM UTC and 10:00 PM UTC.
Registration: For the 10:00 AM UTC session (here<https://isoc.zoom.us/meeting/register/n8v6W86rSHuu3KI8atXaSw>). For the 10:00 PM UTC session (here<https://isoc.zoom.us/meeting/register/2JEgAWRBQniBfioSRbxmnA>).
Information resources: The Zero Draft is available on UNDESA’s webpage<https://publicadministration.desa.un.org/wsis20>. We also offer a dedicated page related to the WSIS+20 review<https://www.internetsociety.org/issues/internet-governance/wsis/>.
