Dear Colleagues,

There are two days left to register for our last regional Community Day this year:

Community Day Latin America and The Caribbean (LAC), 26 September, 18:00 - 19:30 UTC. Register here<https://click.mail.isoc.org/?qs=1b24d39851cdee4e5ea9d0984da71c42f70fd96ab5d7d330d4be2ef9aa43a5a40b83adbed6946947af742d9ad1f46e4c8843d1a8ffe6643c6fdc1ecc18acf942>

The opening remarks by the Internet Society’s President and CEO Sally Wentworth will be followed by an interactive showcase of community achievements in the region - a great opportunity to celebrate the impressive work done by the community and spot opportunities for further cross-chapter and community collaboration and conversations.

The agenda also features a keynote speech by Hartmut Glaser, a 2023 Internet Hall of Fame Inductee, as well as a panel discussion with experts and leaders from the LAC region on how connectivity, security, and Internet governance challenges have been transformed to support a more open, globally connected, secure, and reliable digital environment for all.

The day will also be an opportunity to prepare for a next major milestone:

Global Encryption Day on 21 October.

Many of the regional hubs organized by Internet Society chapters in LAC alongside their regional Community Day will discuss encryption related topics in the lead-up to Global Encryption Day.

Last year, almost half of our 123 chapters globally organized activities on, or around, Global Encryption Day on 21 October. The outcome was truly impressive and we loved seeing the pictures and stories being shared from all around the world.

Let’s unite around such important topics, we’re much stronger together! The upcoming Global Encryption Day<https://www.globalencryption.org/2024/07/global-encryption-day-2024/> is our next opportunity.

Best,

Christine
