Announcing Our New President and CEO, Sally Wentworth

Dear Internet Society member,

Yesterday, 1 September 2024, marked a new milestone for the Internet Society as Sally Wentworth became our new President and CEO. You can read more about the news in our press release and Sally’s blog post.

We first shared this information with our community back in May 2024, but this week marks the start of her term. While Sally is new to the role of President and CEO, she has been a leader within our organization since joining the staff in 2009. Many of you have had the opportunity to work with Sally over the last 15 years, and know her passion for the vision and mission of this organization.

As she mentioned in her post, during her time as CEO, Sally intends to deepen the connections and engagement across our community so that, together, we can build and defend a strong, open Internet for everyone. Please join me in sharing this news and celebrating this renewed opportunity to advocate for an Internet for everyone.

La journée d’hier, 1er septembre 2024, a marqué une nouvelle étape pour l’Internet Society avec la prise de fonction de Sally Wentworth, notre nouvelle présidente et directrice générale. Vous pouvez en apprendre plus dans notre communiqué de presse et dans l’article de blog de Sally.

Nous avons partagé cette information avec notre communauté pour la première fois en mai 2024, mais cette semaine marque le début de son mandat. Bien que le rôle de présidente et directrice générale soit nouveau pour Sally, elle occupe un poste de leader au sein de notre organisation depuis qu’elle nous a rejoint en 2009. Beaucoup d’entre vous ont eu l’occasion de travailler avec Sally au cours des 15 dernières années et connaissent sa passion pour la vision et la mission de cette organisation.

Comme elle l’a mentionné dans son article, durant son mandat de PDG, Sally a l’intention d’approfondir les liens et l’engagement au sein de notre communauté afin que, ensemble, nous puissions construire et défendre un Internet fort et ouvert pour tous.
