Greetings from Lomé,
We hope this message finds you well as we approach the weekend. We are pleased to share with you the  results from the Togo School of Internet Governance. After a month of intensive online courses and enriching exchanges, we successfully certified 60 participants on the Internet Society’s learning platform. These individuals, from diverse backgrounds, then gathered for two days of residential workshops, where we engaged in deep discussions on key topics related to Internet governance.

One of the most inspiring moments was the contribution of Jean-Marie Noagbodji, the man who connected Togo to the Internet in 1997. His knowledge and experience are invaluable, and he shared valuable insights into the early days of the Internet in our country, as well as the challenges we continue to face today. We were also privileged to have experts such as Nnenna Nwakanma, who shed light on digital rights, Adiel Akplogan and Yaovi Atohoun, who provided deep insights into ICANN, the technical aspects of Internet infrastructure and governance, along with Brice Abba from AFRINIC, who shared  knowledge on Internet resource management in Africa and the transition to IPv6.

Throughout the event, we were impressed by the participants' eagerness to learn and the genuine interest they showed in the work of Internet Society Togo. Their active engagement and enthusiasm highlight the growing importance of Internet governance in Togo.

We brought together a diverse community, including representatives from 20 government institutions, members of civil society, the technical community, and academics. Their contributions were invaluable, and their active participation reflects the relevance of the topics we explored.

We are also excited to announce that we successfully recruited 43 new members to Internet Society Togo during this event. This is a strong indication of the trust placed in us and the growing interest in advancing Internet governance in the country.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Victor, Brian, the Foundation team and the chapter leaders for their invaluable advice and support throughout this process. Their guidance was essential to the success of this initiative, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration as we prepare for the National Internet Governance Forum.
