Dear Chapter Leaders, Friends, Colleagues,
Happy Friday!
We are excited to announce a new addition to our vibrant community of Chapters!
Please join us in welcoming the Internet Society Malawi Chapter, our newly chartered chapter in Malawi. Malawi is a landlocked country in southern Africa with a population of over 20 million and an Internet penetration rate of 18%. Check out Malawi’s Internet report on the Internet Society Pulse to learn more.
The founding leadership of this new chapter consists of a diverse group of Internet enthusiasts and advocates, including:
- Brian Munyao Longwe, President
- Kondwani Masiye, Vice-President
- Patricia Mtungila, Secretary General
- Ruth Kapanga, Treasurer/Financial Secretary
Brian and his team have supported the Internet Society’s work for the past few years. Recently, they partnered with us to organize theMalawi Internet Development Workshop and a training workshop for Malawi’s policymakers.
With these initiatives, we believe the Malawi Chapter will be a strong local advocate for our mission to build, promote, and defend the Internet for everyone.
Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Brian and his team to our community!
Thank you, all!
Best regards,
Victor.
