Hello Klaus,
The selection process for our new Association Management System (AMS) included several stages that chapter representatives were engaged in, such as:
* The Key Stakeholder Consultation, during which we held workshops with chapter representatives to obtain feedback on their pain points with our previous AMS system and gather requirements for the new system. We used this information to develop the initial set of user stories and some of the system requirements.
* The User Story and User Role Finalization, during which we held workshops with chapter representatives to review the use cases/user stories gleaned from the requirements gathering stage. At least 3 active Chapter AMS Admins were invited to these per region, as well as any ChAC Steering Committee Member who was interested to join. Since these workshops were initially only lightly attended, our Community Engagement Managers continued to encourage chapter leaders from their region to attend. As a result, we had 42 chapter leaders participate in these workshops. According to our records, you were indeed one of the active participants who contributed user stories. Your suggestions became part of a large number of use cases/user stories that were developed during the overall requirements gathering process. These use cases were then shared with potential vendors.
* The Vendor Selection. Upon completing our vendor research and vendor demonstrations with staff, chapter leaders from each region were invited to a Proof-Of-Concept (POC) demo and Q&A session provided by the finalist vendor, Fonteva. The post-demo poll resulted in the recommendation from the participating chapter leaders to proceed with Fonteva.
Some of the noteworthy comments included compliments for the collaborative and thoughtful process we completed, first-time emphasis on non-functional requirements such as info security, accessibility, and ISOC’s mission-related areas. And with the chapter leaders’ approval, we moved ahead with Fonteva and started the implementation plan.
Now that we have implemented the new system, we are actively meeting with and gathering feedback from the chapters in a variety of ways: We’ve been giving updates to and fielded questions from the Chapters Advisory Council on a regular basis over the last year. We’ve had meetings with regional chapters such as the LAC region and our President & CEO discussed system related topics when he recently met with the UK England Chapter, including a follow-up summary message to this list. We’ve also been receiving feedback from our Community Engagement Managers. And we’ve been addressing (and will continue to address as needed) any major issues such as access to the system, roles and permissions, functionality of the system, and logging system improvements submitted through AMSHelp at isoc.org<mailto:AMSHelp at isoc.org> .
I do hope that this helps provide some context around the points you raised.
Best,
Christine

It is worth reminding everyone that the selection of Fonteva took a
very long time partly because we consulted pretty heavily with the
community on the topic, and Fonteva emerged a clear favourite in part
because of that community reaction to the options we had.
As a Chapter Admin I can confirm 3 heavy involvements:
1. 2020 the launch of "Membernova initiative" which never convened.
2. Big requirements questionnaire in Oct 2021. Though I contributed in detail I never saw an evaluation or heard back - even not when asking.
3. some more or less false messages since then saying "we soon will come up with improvements. Only a few minor things to clarify (e.g. wrt privacy and data protection)"
That's all I saw from this consulting "pretty heavily with the community" - obviously no impact of all my unsolicited EMails submitted on the subject.
Best regards
Klaus
