The Chapters Advisory Council (ChAC) has been requested to identify one (1)
volunteer to serve on the ISOC Nominations Committee AND one (1) volunteer
to serve on the ISOC Elections Committee for the 2024-2025 nominations and
elections cycle.

The Nominations Committee will produce the slate of candidates for election
to the ISOC Board of Trustees in 2025. The Elections Committee will oversee
the 2025 elections process.

The work of both committees is described in their Charters
<https://www.internetsociety.org/board-of-trustees/committees/> and in
the Procedures
for Selecting Trustees
<https://www.internetsociety.org/about-internet-society/governance-policies/procedures-selecting-trustees/>
.

*Why Should You Volunteer? *

*======================*

While Trustees serve in the interest of the Internet Society as a whole
once appointed to the Board, the Chapters are mandated, as per Article IV
of the ISOC Bylaws
<https://www.internetsociety.org/about-internet-society/governance-policies/by-laws/>,
to elect Trustees: "*Chapters shall have the right to elect Trustees as
provided in Article II, Section 1*" and it is important that the Chapters
exercise their right to ensure that suitable candidates are slated for
election. Being part of these committees requires a commitment but will
enable the volunteers to gain valuable experience on high-level Board
committees while ensuring that the Chapters are represented in the election
process.

*Timeline*

*========*

   -

   23 August 2024: Deadline for applications.
   -

   26-30 August 2024: ChAC SC Selection Committee reviews applications
   received.
   -

   Monday, 02 September 2024: The ChAC SC Selection Committee submits the
   recommended volunteers' names, brief bios, and contact information to the
   ISOC Elections and Nominations Committee Chairs.

*Process and Qualifications for Both Positions*

*===================================*

The volunteer shall be selected in an open and transparent process defined
by the Chapters Advisory Council and shared with the Chapters community.

The volunteer shall be familiar with the Internet Society as a whole and
with the Chapters community.

The same volunteer shall not be permitted to serve on both committees.

The volunteer shall not be permitted to serve as a nominee for Trustee
during the election cycle in which they serve.

The volunteer must comply with ISOC’s Conflict of Interest Policy for
Trustees and Board-Designated Officers and complete and return a copy of
the related Disclosure Form.

Volunteers who will add to the diversity of both committees are especially
desirable.
