Thanks Christine for this information. It looks promising that soon we will be able to see and feel  the new AMS - Fonteva  so Chapter Leaders will be able to start a transition from old member nova.

Sincerely,

As part of this, we may need to reach out to specific chapter stakeholders to ask questions or gather additional information to help complete the set-up/configuration process. Some community representatives will also be invited to participate in initial showcases and user acceptance testing. Training sessions will be held ahead of system go-live at the end of June 2023.

We will be in touch as we get closer to this date with more information on what this means for all of you, and how we can successfully navigate this transition together. For now, please keep this in mind when developing your annual plans.

For now, please continue to use the Chapter Portal (AMS) via MemberNova. We will be in touch with more details, including the dates for user training, soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please reach out to Christine Saegesser Baethge at saegesser at isoc.org and Lauren Sopko at sopko at isoc.org.

Over the past few months, Internet Society staff have gone through a series of Fonteva training and discovery calls with our implementation partners. We will complete the technical design documentation and draft the project plan over the next few days. This will include what functionality will be included at go-live and the go-live date itself. We expect to have this plan final by December.

Admitted, I missed a privatissime with Nick and Christine (I assume the result would have been what Joly got from Kyle.) But beside this there is not too much progress. Everything I wrote wrt. anniversary #2 and before (see below) is still valid.

There I learned that MemberNova is to "Take your membership organization to the next level. MemberNova is a membership success platform to manage, engage, and grow your organization." The  approach these guys have is a greedy, completely centralized feature monster. So — despite of all promises from staff — there is is no reason to expect, that they will deliver anything more decentralized, with open interfaces prepared to respect different needs, regional peculiarities or legal requirements. MemberNova remains a huge, marble, white elephant: very shiny, expensive, inflexible and immobile. Btw.: is it unfair to assume that some staff considers this rather an asset than a miss?

Just let's celebrate, kindly look forward to anniversary #4 of our precious "MemberNova initiative" and continue to spend — and occasionally refuse — effort and work for tasks, that computers should and could do for us - if only we had a sound membership admin system.

Admitted: I'm annoyed since I spend quite some time to seriously fill in the questionnaire under tight time constrains. I did this while my inner voice warned me about the poor quality of the questionnaire and the hopelessness to ever see any results.
