[Chapter-delegates] FINAL REMINDER: Call for Nominations, ISOC Board of Trustees

Hi, Hank and George, and everyone!
Happy New Year!

To add to Hank - I can't tell anyone from the chapter community, who's
asking, that they should run for the BoT these days, that they should do
it.

We have seen over and over again that there's some sentiment towards
chapters and chapter-elected leaders, which is counterproductive. We
have seen how some of the chapters' even slight attempts to push for
changes at ISOC have died - for example in the creation of a
"governance-reform group", which has been left with no staff support (I
believe Andrew explained why ISOC won't support its work?), and with a
handful of people contributing (thanks go primarily to Richard for
summarizing and organizing the contributions; have I missed someone
else?), it has effectively been in a coma for quite a while. Now, with
Mike Godwin stepping down as a co-chair, people are probably expecting
the end of it?

It would have been different, if we have seen proposals by chapters (and
elected Trustees by them) being considered more seriously by the BoT.
It would have been different, if we have seen ISOC itself more aligned
to help chapters solve local issues through the power of a global
organization. It would have been different, but it's not.

And therefore it's not a surprise not many people want to run for the
Board, right?
