Dear Benjamin,

I am Emmett P. Chea, ViceChair-Board of Trustees, Internet Society Liberia Chapter.
I was so excited when I sawyour email. I knew we still have few people thinking in such direction.

We all know that high school andcollege going youths in developed nations used internet for learning while practicingsocial distancing during an era of pandemic, but eventually we realized thatthe internet availability is one of the challenges in Liberia which has causeda lot of internet inaccessibility for rural and urban youths’ education. This lackof internet access has affected the education and social lives of school going youthsin Liberia badly. This incident has attracted our attention put it as a majorpriority for use of internet in Liberia. “INTERNETACCESS TO ALL PROJECT-IATAP” is a project being designed currently to advocatefor increased internet access and to promote distance learning by extendinginternet connectivity to remote locations in Liberia, providing internet access, mobile devices and electronics to underprivileged kids and youths; this canalso improve the educational system by increasing the access to internet usages.

Hope working with you and the team.

It is truly the beginningof our plan to strengthen the global network of youth communities around theglobe.

I take this opportunity to kindly invite thosewho have not yet replied, to send their reactions. Next week, on April 27, the Youth SG is co-organizingwith the Youth Coalition on Internet Governance an IGF-related event and wewould like to extend the invitation to the youth communities of your countries toallow them to participate in the process on an equal footing.

Dear all Chapter Delegates,

Firstly, I hope you are safe and well. My name is Benjamin Chong Castillo, the Chapter Advisory Council Representative of the Youth Standing Group.
The reason for this message is to request the collaboration of all Internet Society Chapters to collect information on existing youth initiatives in their localities/regions, because the Youth Standing Group is currently mapping all existing youth initiatives in the six diverse regions of ISOC.
In this regard, we ask for your support in answering the following inquiry:

1.- Name of the chapter
2.- Do you currently have any youth initiative(s)? (or do you intend to create one soon).
3.- In case you have some youth initiative(s), please share the name of the initiative with us and we will privately request more information about it.

Finally, we would like to ask you if some of the young people who are part of your chapter would like to collaborate in this project, which aims to integrate all the information on youth initiatives to harmonise and strengthen the direction of the youth in internet governance, it is a great opportunity to get closer to the ecosystem and contribute to further shaping it.

Best regards,

Benjamin Chong CastilloChapters Advisory Council Representative, Youth Standing Group ISOC._______________________________________________
