Dear delegates,
Italy ISOC Chapter is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the first connection between Italy and the Internet. The connection between the CNUCE Institute of the CNR in Pisa and Pennsylvania took place around 6 pm on 30 April 1986. This connection allowed Italy to be the fourth country in Europe to be connected to the Internet, after Norway, England and Germany.
A celebration will take place on 30 April 2021 at 6 pm where the young generations will be discussing the benefits of the Internet today and in the spirit of intergenerational dialogue. The event will be open to all, allowing simple and interactive discussion on Zoom, and will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube. Italian language. Among the participants there will be Stefano Trumpy who was director of CNUCE [1983-1996] and personally worked in the sector of research networks, playing key roles at national and international level. He will discuss CNUCE's commitment to the sector, with highly qualified personnel attracted by the growing reputation and results achieved by the institute. It was Stefano Trumpy again who in 1991 led CNUCE to become a founder of the Internet Society.
With regards,
