Dear Colleagues,
First of all I wish you and your families are safe and sound in your homes,
during this difficult time we are facing. I don't remember any other time
in my life in which the humanity was confronted a global crisis like this,
in a matter of weeks, and with similar complex realities in all of our
regions.
Today we have the opportunity to verify, the FUNDAMENTAL ROLE THAT INTERNET
HAS IN OUR LIVES, but also this critical situations remind us, how
important is to achieve the UNIVERSAL ACCESSIBILITY as fast as we can,
because as we know, near half of the population is not connected as we are,
and that means that several children and also university students, are not
able to follow on line classes, several other people are not able to be
working from their homes, and many others are completely isolated without
any contact with friends and family.
And together with other important matters, our ISOC Community have a key
role to achieve what we have in our vision: "INTERNET FOR EVERYONE" through
our common objectives. And this is why I want to be elected as part of the
Board of Trustees. And because I strongly believe, we need to strengthen
the regional diversity in the BoT, with more trustees coming from countries
in the global south, in which we still have a very law Internet
penetration, despite the great efforts and work that has been done by all
the chapters in these regions.
As you know there was a specific forum where we, as candidates, received
questions and provided our answers. I hope you all had a chance to read the
messages in that forum. I am sure you will find great answers and
contributions from all the candidates, to whom I have deep respect and
recognition, because all of them had a chance to contribute to our ISOC
Community in different ways. You may find our profiles in the following
link:

But if you have not had the chance to know something more about us, I also
wanted to contact you through this channel, and if you didn't vote yet, I
want to put in your consideration to support me to be one of the two
elected candidates for chapter's sits.
Thank you very much and best regards,
Roberto Zambrana
