Dear Chapter Leaders,

I trust this email finds you well.

On behalf of the 2019-2020 Nominations Committee, I am pleased to
announce the final slates of nominees for the Internet Society Board
of Trustees elections.

As announced to the Chapters community on 18 February, we received the
required number of signatures in support of George Sadowsky's petition
to stand as a candidate in the Chapters election. No other petitions
were filed. Therefore, the final Chapters slate for two (2) board
seats is as follows:

The candidates for each election slate are listed below in
alphabetical order by last name.

Chapters Election (two seats available)

– Satish Babu
– Maimouna Diop
– Luis Miguel Martinez
– Glenn McKnight
– Amir Qayyum
– George Sadowsky
– Roberto Zambrana

It was also announced to the Organization Members community on 22
February that one more candidate, Heather West, was added to the slate
of candidates for the Organization Members election. She was
originally identified for the slate by the Nominations Committee, but
was excluded due to a potential conflict of interest. The Nominations
Committee subsequently learned that the potential conflict of interest
was resolved. Therefore, the final Organization Members slate for one
(1) board seat is as follows:

Organization Members Election (one seat available)

– Olivier Alais
– Ted Hardie
– Heather West

Biographical information on all the candidates is available
here:https://www.internetsociety.org/board-of-trustees/elections/2020/nominees/

As noted in a blog post by last year’s Elections Chair, Walid Al-Saqaf
(https://www.internetsociety.org/blog/2019/11/heads-up-a-slight-change-to-the-internet-society-election-process/),
the period that used to be allocated for voting and the Candidates
Forum is now split into two shorter sequential periods: the first 14
days is for the Candidates Forum and the second 14 days is for voting.
The Candidates Forum will open on Thursday, 5 March. Watch for an
email about the Forum soon. Voting delegates* can expect to receive
e-ballots from the ISOC Elections Committee by email on Thursday, 19
March and will have until 15:00 UTC on Friday, 3 April to cast votes.

*As a reminder, only the voting delegate of each Chapter is issued an
e-ballot, and only for the Chapters Election. If you do not know who
the voting delegate for your Chapter is, do not hesitate to contact
Christine Saegesser, ISOC Director for Chapters and Individual Members
Engagement (saegesser at isoc.org).

This announcement concludes the work of the ISOC Nominations
Committee. As chair of this year´s Nomcom I want to thank colleagues
who joined me as members of this committee for their commitment and
great team work.

The Committee thanks all of the nominees who expressed interest and
willingness to serve on the Internet Society Board of Trustees.

Best regards,

Olga
