ISOC is much more than a convenor in that case. It convenes for an open
interoperable as openly interconnected Internet where users at the edge
enjoy permissionless innovation as is possible.
Anything that smacks of building capabilities attempting to "corner the
market" at any layer or even geography or topology is surely something
ISOC needs to call out?

The W3C and its Foundation - different but kindreds have shown deep
concern that its layer of the stack is being or might be undermined.
There should be a clear meeting of minds and agenda here between ISOC
and W3C and others..
