Dear Colleagues,

Dear Colleagues:
Last year we announced plans to establish the Internet Society Foundation in 2019 to showcase and support the positive difference the Internet can make to people everywhere. The Foundation will support work that aligns with our values, expands our community, and delivers impact around the world.
The Foundation is in its infancy right now, but in its first phase will feature grant-giving programs for our Chapters. On 18 February, we will introduce the initial phase of the Foundation and its new website with the Beyond the Net Small Projects grants.
Beyond the Net will make up just one area of the Foundation's grant portfolio. As we build the Foundation, we will expand our grant programs to offer more opportunities for our community as well as extend our reach into new areas to attract individuals and groups previously unfamiliar with the Internet Society. For more general information on the Foundation, visit: https://www.internetsociety.org/foundation/.
For now, a top priority is hiring an Executive Director to lead the Foundation's strategy and operations. If you know someone who could be interested, the position is posted here: https://internetsociety.bamboohr.co.uk/jobs/view.php?id=54. Once our Executive Director is on board, we expect the Foundation to ramp up quickly as we work toward full operations and the official launch later this year.
The Internet Society Foundation helps us advance our mission and shows our commitment to an open, globally-connected, secure, and trustworthy Internet for everyone. We will keep you updated on its progress. If you have any questions, please send them to foundation at isocfoundation.org<mailto:foundation at isocfoundation.org>.
Best regards,
Andrew
