Hi Joly,

SIGs have observer rights within the Chapters Advisory Council, see also the first point (1. Definitions) of the Chapters Advisory Council Rules and Procedures<https://www.internetsociety.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/ISOC-ChaptersAC-Rulesandprocedures_Dec2017.pdf> for further details.

I hope this helps.

Best,

Christine

Congratulations to all!

Christine,

May I ask for clarification of the participation of SIGs in the ChAC?

How does it work?

Thanks

Joly

(apologies for cross-posting)

Dear colleagues,

The polls for the 2020 Chapters AC Steering Committee elections closed on 27 November. There were 9 positions to fill, one for each region and 3 non geographical positions.

The first person of each region with the most votes is identified as the 'regional representative' and the 'non geographical representatives' are the 3 delegates with the most votes following the regional attribution.

It is therefore my pleasure to announce the elected Chapters AC Steering Committee 2020 representatives:

Regional representatives:

- LAC: Eduardo Diaz (Puerto Rico Chapter)
- Europe: Olivier Crepin-Leblond (UK England Chapter)
- North America: Pierre-Jean Darres (Canada Québec Chapter)
- APAC: Satish Babu (India Trivandrum Chapter)
- Africa:
Wadzanai Ndlovu (Zimbabwe Chapter)
- Middle East: Nabil Bukhalid (Lebanon Chapter)

And the three non-geographical representatives:

- Elaine Ford (Peru Chapter)
- Lianna Galstyan (Armenia Chapter)
- German M. Fajardo Muriel (Colombia Chapter)

Congratulations to the incoming Steering Committee!

At the same time, I’d like to thank the outgoing Steering Committee members who volunteered their time and energy over the last year for the work of the Chapter Advisory Council on behalf of all the Chapters!

I also want to use this opportunity to thank John More who, as Nominations and Elections Chair, ensured a smooth election process.

In terms of the next steps: A challenge period is now open until 5 December. If there is no challenge to the results, these will be official on 6 December.

Thank you all very much for your commitment and congratulations again!

Christine
