[Chapter-delegates] Sad News: Jo-Anne Scott

Hi, everyone.
Sorry to be the one to share this sad news, which came via Raul Echeberria.


"Hi everybody:

I'm sure many of you knew Jo-Anne Scott.

I just knew that Jo-Anne unexpectedly passed away on 14th July.

She used to work very close with George Sadowsky and others in the
organization of the famous workshops for developing countries that ISOC
held every year, many many years ago, right before the global INET.

Many people who currently serve in Internet organizations' bodies and/or
work in this industry (including myself), participated in those
workshops. Others in this list were involved either in the organization
or worked as teachers of the workshops. All of us benefited from her
sympathy and efficiency. She used to be always busy solving everyone's
problems.

I have been talking with some colleagues with whom we attended together
the workshops in Montreal ('96) and Kuala Lumpur ('97) and we exchanged
many good anecdotes about Jo-Anne.

In case any of you want to send condolences, Scott Weikart
<sweikart at gmail.com> is her long time partner.

Jo-Anne is one of those people, like other hundreds or even thousands,
who have been part of the history of the Internet Society community. RIP.
