[Chapter-delegates] Please welcome new ISOC-NY President Greg Shatan

Hello Chapter Leaders!

Time has come for me to move on at ISOC-NY. I have admin'd the chapter,
including website and social media, in one form or another, all of this
century, much of that time in support of our previous President David
Solomonoff. When David himself stepped down in 2016, there was no other
obvious candidate and I was duly elected to replace him.

At the end of last year I organized an election and was able (at our 20th
Anniversary event)  to persuade Greg Shatan to stand for the board. Even
then I had him spotted as a potential leader for the Chapter. He was duly
elected and, in the time since, has proved himself to be every bit as
worthy as I imagined.

Thus I have duly resigned as President of ISOC-NY, as of Aug 31, and Greg
has been appointed my replacement. Please give him a welcome! (if concerned
about congratulatory emails filling up people's mailboxes, you can do it
directly at greg at isoc-ny.org )

I will also step down from my other responsibilities at the Chapter. Greg
has a strong board and I am sure will make the best of a clean slate to
work with. I believe this is an important process, not just for ISOC-NY but
as an example for other Chapters - those with long-term leaders - who might
benefit from a similar change. Ultimately, it ensures sustainability, and
provides opportunity.

However, you will not be rid of me! Apart from my streaming activity, about
which I will write elsewhere, I currently admin the Disabled and Special
Needs Chapter (in rejuvenation). We are actively working on transitioning
it to a SIG. If you are interested in being a part of the effort, please
