Dear Joly, dear all,
The invitation for the Chapter Advisory Council Steering Committee candidates to present themselves on the full Chapter leaders list (as opposed to the Chapter Advisory Council list) was on purpose with the intention to let all Chapter officers help their respective Chapter Advisory Council representative make an informed decision. While the Chapter Advisory Council representatives will receive the actual voting ballot later today, the decision on who to vote for should not be a personal one, but that of the Chapter as a group.
And, FYI: All Chapter leaders worldwide are automatically subscribed to both the Chapter leaders community on Connect and the Chapter-Delegates list. These lists have been maintained in parallel over the last few years to accommodate the preferences of certain Chapters. However, we will indeed need to streamline our communications going forward to reduce the number of e-mails over these different lists, also to avoid cross-postings going forward.
Having said that, a Chapter/member volunteer working group will start its work shortly to discuss and document the highs and lows experienced with the Connect platform to help us move forward with our communication tools. This particular working group is still open for new volunteers to join. See the details below. Please do reach out to me at <saegesser at isoc.org> if you are interested in participating in this discussion.
Best regards,
Christine
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
=====================
2) Connect Engagement Platform
============================
- Description: Discuss and document the highs and lows experienced through the platform. As we move forward with new communication tools, we want to hear feedback on what members like from the platform, don't like from the platform, and would like to see as a feature on the platform. Whether you are an active Connect user or not we want to hear from you. As an active user, your likes, dislikes and improvements you would like to see. As an inactive user, dislikes for not using platform, possible likes of the platform, what improvements that could be made that would have you more active in the platform
- Volunteer profile: 1) Individuals who have used the Connect platform over the last few years and who would be ready to share details of their user experience (What works? What doesn't?), 2) Individuals who have not used the Connect platform over the last few years (We'd like to learn more about why this is).
- Number of volunteers: To ensure input and feedback from all region, we will determine the number of volunteers based on the level of responses we receive to have at least one representative from all 6 regions join this group.
- Estimated time needed: Two to three 1-hour Zoom calls, and 2-3 hours in between of online collaboration (Box & Connect). Starting November 2018 – January 2019.

This list should be maintained automatically (or manually by staff) by selecting those chapters officers identified as Chapter Advisory Council Representative in the ISOC AMS system. Also, continue the use of the chapter-delegates at elists.isoc.org mailman list. This list should be maintained automatically (or manually by staff) by selecting chapters officers identified in the ISOC AMS system.
