Dear Chapter Leaders:
This is to provide you with information on ISOC’s 2018 Board of Trustees
elections. As announced by Nominations Committee Chair Olga Cavalli, the
final slate for the Chapters election is as follows:
– Walid Al-Saqaf
– Matthew Rantanen
– Stefano Trumpy
– Roberto Zambrana
In this year’s election cycle Chapters are asked to elect one (1)
Trustee. The winning candidate will serve a three-year term commencing
in June.
Electronic ballots will be sent to all voting representatives on
Thursday, 8 March, officially marking the start of voting. Voting
representatives will have until Monday, 9 April, at 15:00 UTC to cast
their ballots. If you do not know who the voting representative for your
Chapter is, do not hesitate to contact Christine Saegesser, ISOC Senior
Manager for Global Chapter Development (saegesser at isoc.org).
To help you learn about the candidates and their views on various issues
impacting the Internet and the Internet Society, we have assembled these
resources for your information and use.
Candidate Bios
Each candidate was invited to submit a biographical summary. Please take
time to consider the experience and backgrounds of the candidates for
the Chapters election. Links to candidate bios can be found at:

Candidate Forum
To facilitate dialogue between Chapter leaders and candidates for the
Chapters election, the Elections Committee is again launching an online
Candidate Forum. In response to feedback from members, we have moved the
Forum from the Connect platform to a Mailman mailing list. Everyone
subscribed to the Chapter-Delegates list will be subscribed
automatically to the ISOC Chapters Candidate Forum list. (You may
unsubscribe at any time.) The Forum will enable candidates to answer
questions posed by the Elections Committee and by you, Chapter leaders.
Please watch your email inbox for a message welcoming you to the
Chapters Candidate Forum list tomorrow.
