[Chapter-delegates] FYI - Our Caribbean report and view that the world needs to do more to reconnect the Caribbean

Chapter leaders,

We've become increasingly concerned that 5 months after hurricanes devastated many islands in the Caribbean, there are still people in many parts of the region who do not have Internet access and other services. To us, this is unacceptable. The world has the resources to do more.

Our Latin American & Caribbean Bureau assembled a report based on information from some Chapter leaders and Organization members in the region. We have published this on our site today:

On those pages, we outline some steps we are planning to take, including developing a new grant program for chapters affected by natural disasters.

We would encourage any of you to join in with helping share this information and use the hashtag where appropriate.

If any of you are in the region and will be at the CANTO meeting in Trinidad & Tobago starting this weekend, Shernon Osepa (cc'd) will be there and would be glad to meet with you.

As we note in the post and report, we are looking to do more in the region over the next few months. We look forward to working with all of you in the region - and beyond.
