- Completely agree that this should be shared responsibility. However, 
(most) Chapter leaders are volunteers and most are not 
communication/marketing/membership retention experts.

As you note below, the membership is diverse: there is no one size fits 
all and it is up to each Chapter to let ISOC know what it needs/how 
things can be improved because ISOC cannot possibly know what kind of 
communication methods work best in each locality.

I do believe, though, that ISOC should focus much more of its efforts on 
improving its overall communication as well as supporting the Chapters 
more in their communication needs should they require it.

That said, I've certainly seen improvements in the North America region 
as the regional office has built up its capacity so I think steps are 
being made in the right direction.
