[Chapter-delegates] Steve Crocker's leaving the ICANN Board

You summarized it in a great well.

For those who are not aware, during the dinner in L.A. last Sunday, as part of the ISOC 25th anniversary, Gonzalo Caramillos, ISOC Board Chair, presented to Steve Crocker the ISOC Life Time Achievement Award.
It was very nice to be part of that moment. Very well deserved recognition. Steve didn’t expect that, what made the moment even more memorable.

More than a governance icon, Steve led the host protocol development  in the ARPANET project while still a graduate student at UCLA. He founded the network working group which one could argue is the predecessor to today's IETF. He initiated the RFC series. And he has served at ICANN as the inaugural chair of the SSAC and now, of course, as chairman of the board. A truly remarkable record and one worthy of our admiration and appreciation.
