[Chapter-delegates] Cybersecurity webinar: Ciberseguridad un asunto de interés regional

Oscar,

thanks a lot for the invitation. It sparks a couple of questions which I
have found nowhere else to ask:

1. Does the Cybersecurity SIG have a working mailing list or other form of
internal communication? are any discussions taking place? I signed up as a
founding member and have not received any such communications, and my
attempts to ask have bounced. However, the emails of some members are now
receiving invitations to paid events by some of the founders.

2. On the event tomorrow. The guest has notoriously and consistently snided
at ISOC's and ISOC chapters' attempts to establish a true multistakeholder
dialogue on cybersecurity. The only accomodation he makes for the
participation of civil society and academia are as participants in
consultations, many of which are kept separate from other actors; the
technical community is also not called in explicitly, apparently relying on
its input through firms and governments (where it is scarce) only. In the
proposals for national cybersecurity agendas, or in the very recent
inauguration of the OAS events for cybersecurity awareness this week, the
only substantial actors are governments and (big, infrastructure oriented,
mostly US-based) industry. Do you foresee anything different for the
webinar tomorrow?

I would like very much to discuss these issues only internally within the
SIG but as said, I have been unable to access them. I'll gladly take this
discussion there if you can provide appropriate orientation.
