We are coming up on ISOC-NY's 20th Anniversary, and I have been digging
around to try and assemble a quorum of our founders. As I do it I've been
turning up a few things

It seems we were were not the first US Chapter (Dec 97) by some measure. DC
ISOC's earliest archived webpage https://web.archive.org/web/
19961102044403/http://www.dcisoc.org:80/ (Nov 96) which says "We have held
several very successful events during our first 1.5 years" which would put
them around May 95.
